Penticton Vees Acquire 22 Players in 2025 WHL Expansion Draft
The Penticton Vees have made significant strides in preparation for their debut season in the Western Hockey League (WHL) by acquiring 22 players during the 2025 WHL Expansion Draft. This expansion initiative allowed the Vees to select one player from each of the 13 existing WHL teams, with some players being acquired through pre-arranged trades involving seven clubs. Notably, the Medicine Hat Tigers and Spokane Chiefs were granted special accommodations due to their advancement to the WHL Championship Series.
Among the players selected are forwards Isaac Davies and Cameron Norrie, goaltender Kaenan Smith, and several defensemen including Kalan Anderlini and Ethan Weber. The Vees also completed several trades to enhance their roster, acquiring players like Chase Valliant and Jesse Sanche from other teams. In total, the roster includes four goaltenders, seven defensemen, and eleven forwards, indicating a diverse and promising team structure as they look forward to their upcoming season.
